Do You Want To Bake A Cupcake | 24 Days of Modedeviebel

It doesn't have to be a cupcake, except that's what we're doing today...

Congratulations - we are officially half way through Blogmas! That's why on Day Twelve of 24 Days of Modedeviebel there is no better way to celebrate than to bake some cupcakes! As sad as this may seem, since my Frozen bubble bath on Day Ten I have felt very much inspired by Frozen which is precisely why for the first time in forever I will not be baking your 'everyday' cupcakes! Sorry about all the  Frozen puns...

Frozen Cupcakes

Ingredients:
  • 110g Butter or Margarine (softened at room temperature)
  • 110g Caster Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 110g Self-Raising Flour
  • 1-2tbsp Milk
  • Blue Food Colouring

First off, preheat the oven to 180C/350F and line your baking tray with 12 paper cases, preferably blue to continue the Frozen theme.

Next, cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl before adding in (a little at a time) the already beaten eggs along with the vanilla extract. Fold in the flour then slowly add the milk until the mixture is of a dropping consistency. Add a few drops of blue food colouring, bearing in mind that it is completely optional (if at all) how Frozenified you want your cupcakes to be. Spoon this mixture into the paper cases.

Place in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Once your cupcakes are golden brown (or blue..?) set them aside to cool before placing them onto a wire rack. Another great way to test to see whether your cupcakes are fully cooked is to stick a skewer in the centre - if the skewer comes out clean they are done!

Now for the fun part! I have bought a variety of cupcake sprinkles and icing to add a little more magic to my Frozen cupcakes! Don't chill - go wild, throw sprinkles! The more creative the better!

I hope you enjoyed this baking post! Let me know some of your favourite Christmas treats that keep you happy in winter

Sorry that's the last time I swear...
